Alcohol Concern
Alcohol Concern is the national agency on alcohol misuse. We work to reduce
the incidence and costs of alcohol-related harm and to increase the range and
quality of services available to people with alcohol-related problems.
The National Treatment Agency (NTA) is a special health authority, created by
the Government in 2001 to improve the availability, capacity and effectiveness
of treatment for drug misuse in England. In other words, to ensure that there is
more treatment, better treatment and fairer treatment available to all those who
need it.

Launched in April 2004, The Commission for Social Care Inspection is the
single, independent inspectorate for all social care services in England.

CSCI incorporates the work formerly done by: The Social Services
Inspectorate (SSI); SSI/Audit Commission Joint Review Team; The National
Care Standards Commission (NCSC).

The commission has a much wider remit than its predecessor organisations.
And its creation is a significant milestone for social care. Bringing together the
inspection, regulation and review of all social care services into one
organisation allows for a more rational and integrated system.
Addiction Today is the most widely-read publication in the UK drugs and
alcohol treatment field. Published bimonthly by the Addiction Recovery
Foundation charity, it is devoted to leading-edge and evidence-based
treatment and good practice. It is read by commissioners/purchasers of
treatment, providers of a range of treatment options, counsellors, therapists,
GPs, nurses, members of parliament, the media and others
